Dandadan Anime Adaptation by Science Saru
Dandadan is a Shonen manga by Yukinobu Tatsu, who was an assistant of Tatsuki Fujimoto (creator of Chainsaw Man) and Yuji Kaku (creator of Hell’s Paradise). As you are aware, both CSM and Hell’s Paradise anime adaptations became blockbuster hits of the year when they came out. That’s a super interesting fact, isn’t it?
As the manga rose to prominence, it drew the attention of fans all over the world, resulting in huge popularity over a short span of time. Thus, it was the same case as many other manga fans demand here, as Dandadan was speculated to get an anime adaptation from a popular studio.
Dandan has been mentioned by the fans as a manga with a distinctive storyline. According to Viz, this is the official plot of the series:
Momo Ayase strikes up an unusual friendship with her school’s UFO fanatic, whom she nicknames “Okarun” because he has a name that is not to be said aloud. While Momo believes in spirits, she thinks aliens are nothing but nonsense. Her new friend, meanwhile, thinks the exact opposite. To settle matters, the two set out to prove each other wrong – Momo to a UFO hotspot and Okarun to a haunted tunnel! What unfolds next is a beautiful story of young love…and oddly aliens and spirits?
An impressive set of staff members has been selected to bring to life Tatsu’s manga in this anime adaptation. They are as follows:
We are super excited to witness the visual spectacle from Science Saru and get blown away by it next year. For now, this announcement is a sign that I need to stop being lazy, revisit my ‘to read’ list, and start reading this manga to prepare myself for the anime.
